The history of prayer accelerating Bible translation

1457

In Hernnhut, Germany, the Moravian community begins to pray without ceasing for 100 years catalyzing the modern missions movement.

1982

Before founding Seed Company, Bernie May, challenges the Bible translation movement to prioritize prayer. Within two years, answered prayer is evidenced with the near doubling of Bible translation workers and funding.

2012

The Bible translation movement partners with global prayer movements. Immediate and unprecedented unity amongst Bible translation ministries causes multiplication of workers and resources once again.

2017

The Pray for Zero movement is launched casting vision for the global church to unite in prayer for Zero Bibleless people on earth by 2025. Indigenous leaders establish regional expressions in Asia, Africa and Pacific. The impact results in a surge of project starts amongst the remaining language communities still without one verse of the Bible.

2022

Pray for Zero unites church, missions and house of prayer leaders to launch the virtual prayer room: Unceasing Prayer. Starting with 40 hours of weekly prayer and vision to fill all 168 weekly hours with prayer for Bible translation.
